Leeds United have completed a deal to sign Valerenga goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Whites have a ‘total agreement’ for the 20-year-old shot-stopper. Klaesson will become Leeds’ sixth signing of the summer and will replace Kiko Casilla in Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.
As per Fabrizio Romano, a medical is booked in for this week for the youngster. Whilst a work permit is expected to be approved soon for Klaesson.
According to Nettavisen, Leeds will pay just £1.6m for the Scandinavian keeper.
Victor Orta was keen to sign the prospect this summer. Indeed, Nettavisen report that the Spaniard flew Oslo, along with other Leeds representatives, to thrash out a deal for Klaesson.
Leeds have landed a potential coup in Klaesson
With Klaesson replacing Casilla in the squad, Illan Meslier will likely retain his place as Leeds’ number one keeper for next season.

The French youth international was one of Bielsa’s most consistent performers last campaign as the Yorkshire side finished 10th.
Indeed, Klaesson could be a smart backup to Meslier at Leeds as well as a good replacement for Casilla.
The youngster was a regular for Valerenga, with Klaesson making 58 appearances in total for the Eliteserien side over three years.
A player of Klaesson’s age and experience is a major coup for Leeds. And although he won’t replace Meslier in the starting XI, there is every chance that Orta has again signed a gem of a keeper who could flourish at the club if the circumstances permit it.
