Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool both want to sign Torino defender Bremer, who is again being hailed after his performance against Inter Milan.

Bremer may not be a household name outside of Italy but he’s well on his way to becoming an absolute star.

The Brazilian has been developing into one of Serie A’s top defenders over the last 18 months and is now attracting major interest.

Italian journalist Camilo Forte claims Liverpool and Tottenham are in the race for Bremer, but so are Manchester City and Manchester United.

Tuttosport have since claimed that Liverpool are leading the race, with Tottenham scouting the defender against inter Milan on Sunday.

So how did Bremer fare in that game?

The Italian press felt Bremer was very good, with Tuttomercatoweb claiming that Bremer was ‘almost perfect’ against Inter.

Bremer scored Torino’s opener in the 1-1 draw, firing home home from inside the six-yard box as Inter failed to clear their lines.

TMW also called Bremer ‘insuperable’, seemingly believing Inter just couldn’t get past him until Alexis Sanchez scored a last-gasp equaliser.

Taking on the best of the best in Serie A is always a great test for Bremer, especially with Premier League clubs looking to bring him to England.

It seems that, coming up against former Premier League attackers in Edin Dzeko and Alexis Sanchez, Bremer equipped himself very well.

Tottenham may well be in the market for another defender this summer, with Bremer potentially joining Cristian Romero and a new left-sided centre back in Antonio Conte’s back three.

That certainly makes more sense than joining Liverpool, where Bremer would surely only join if Joe Gomez moves on.

Even then, Bremer would likely be fourth-choice at Anfield just as Gomez is right now.

Bremer is likely to move on this summer, and with more performances like that against Inter will only spark more and more interest – hardly what Tottenham want as they seek summer signings.
