West Ham United reportedly want to bring Serie A stirker Belotti to the Premier League but they’ll have to pay a huge fee.
The chances of West Ham United signing Andrea Belotti this month look slimmer than ever.
Cuoretoro reported earlier in the transfer window that The Hammers were interested in signing the Italian international striker from Torino and were willing to offer a club-record £44 million for his signature.
But, in latest reports provided by Gazzetta dello Sport, it could take a bid much bigger than that to convince Torino to sell.
It is understood that club president Urbano Cairo has snubbed a staggering £52 million bid from Chinese Super League outfit Dalian Yifang and he has no interest in cashing in on his prized asset before the end of the January transfer window.
So West Ham are probably better off looking elsewhere as they look to bring in a centre-forward capable of eventually replacing Marko Arnautovic at the London Stadium.
With Torino demanding more than £52 million, there are certainly more affordable options out there even if the transfer market has gone a little mad in recent seasons.
The former Palermo striker Belotti is no longer seen as one of Europe’s most feared strikers, scoring just nine goals in 23 games this season.
