Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic have progressed to the Europa League knockout rounds.

Reginiussen scored a late goal for Rosenborg, as the Norwegian club held RB Leipzig to a 1-1 draw in Germany in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
That draw saw Celtic go through to the round of 32 in the Europa League as group runners-up despite Brendan Rodgers’s side suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of RB Salzburg at Celtic Park.
Reginiussen, 32, has revealed that after the match, he got hundred of friend requests from Celtic fans on Twitter.
The Scottish Sun quotes Reginiussen as saying: “It meant a lot to us to score that goal and I think it meant a lot to many people in Glasgow too because I had hundreds of friend requests on Facebook after the match!
“I’m glad they are happy, but the important thing was it prevented us losing every game in the section.”

Progressing
Celtic must consider themselves lucky at their progress to the knockout rounds of the Europa League this season.
The Hoops, though, must be delighted that they will have European football after Christmas, and it will be interesting to see which team they face in the round of 32.
Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 33 points from 15 matches.
