Speaking on Wolves’ YouTube channel, Jeff Shi has claimed that Wolves stars Pedro Neto and Fabio Silva could get into any Premier League team.
The Wolves chief was discussing the club’s summer transfer plans and the idea of buying more young players in the upcoming window.
Shi is seemingly a believer in the old adage ‘if you’re good enough, you’re old enough’ and he believes that Silva and Neto are already at an elite level.

What has he said?
Shi has made a big claim about the Wolves youngsters.
“If you’re a top talent, it’s not really important about your age,” Shi said.
“If you can say like Pedro Neto or Fabio Silva, I think they can get into any team in the Premier League, so it’s not really about age.
“Age is important, but sometimes your peak will happen at an earlier age or when you are very young, so I am not so concerned about it. It’s more important not to think about age, but how they perform on the pitch.”
Maybe in the future
It’s a big claim from Shi, but it’s not one we can get on board with.
Neto certainly could play for any team in the Premier League. After all, he is an exceptional young talent, but it’s hard to make a similar argument for Silva.
He’s scored four Premier League goals in 32 games, and we can’t imagine there are many teams that would be queuing up to take a striker with that sort of record.
He is only 18 years old, so maybe one day he will be on that elite level of striker, but as of right now, we have to say that Shi’s comments are a little wide of the mark.
