Ashley Cole and Martin Keown praised reported Liverpool target Christian Pulisic for his performance in the FA Cup on Sunday, as they told Match of the Day live.
Chelsea recorded a 2-0 win against Sheffield United to book their place in the semi-finals and Keown handed the American the Man of the Match and labelled him as a ‘top talent’.
Pulisic could swap one German coach for another in Jurgen Klopp in the summer, with Liverpool keen on his signature, according to the Daily Mail.
After being ‘the big player’ for Chelsea last season, injuries have hit Pulisic hard during this campaign, which was touched upon by both Cole and Keown.
“Last season, he was very influential,” said Cole. “And he was the big player for Chelsea. He had that injury and it’s stifled him a bit.
“He’s in and out of the team, at the moment. But the performance (against Sheffield United) was good. Maybe, he should have scored a goal. But I think he will be pleased with that.”
Keown added: “He has probably been Chelsea’s best player, Pulisic. It’s important to protect him with the hamstring injuries he has had.
“Now that he is off the pitch Pulisic. I think I would have to give him Man of the Match. A player I liked to look at and watch. He has been unlucky with injury.
“But he seems to be getting back to his best now and he seems to be another option for the manager here. Top talent.”

By the time Pulisic broke through at Dortmund, Klopp had left and was beginning his journey on Merseyside.
Given Pulisic’s direct style, a rawness to his game and ability to run in-behind, there’s no doubt that he suits Klopp’s style.
But it has to be questioned whether Pulisic is the answer for Liverpool in the summer because their fans will be looking more towards an out-and-out number nine rather than someone on the flanks.
