Rio Ferdinand told his official YouTube channel that Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka will be a ‘scary relationship’ for Arsenal in years to come.

Despite being out injured for several months, Martinelli has lifted this previously energy-sapped and confidence-drained Arsenal side with his lively and on the front foot performances in recent games.

Over the weekend, the versatile attacker, alongside Arsenal’s academy product Bukayo Saka, ripped Chelsea apart to secure a much-needed win for the under-fire, Mikel Arteta.

Ferdinand has raved about the talents both players have in their boots and has predicated big, big things to come for the highly-rated teenage duo.

“I watched Martinelli at Bournemouth away last season,” said Ferdinand. “Him and Saka together, they have a link up and a relationship that’s already there that I think in years to come will be a scary relationship. Scary!

“They work so well together. And Tierney as well backing it up. But Martinelli, I have to say is going to be a tremendous footballer. Top player.

“He has come back into this team and he is showing what all the fuss was about before. He is going to be a huge, huge player. Massive talent. I just hope he can stay fit. Saka, him as well.”

On one hand, Arsenal have something to look forward to in regards to Martinelli and Saka because everything else has looked pretty bleak.

But, the Arsenal youngsters are putting their more senior teammates to shame and showing how the tone for the struggling North London giants should be set.

From Martinelli and Saka’s perspective, they will be hoping the rest of their teammates can now join their party and push Arsenal up the table.
