Jamie O’Hara has urged Newcastle United to sign Aaron Ramsey this January after his ‘strange’ move away from Arsenal to Juventus l in 2019, as he told talkSPORT.
The Radio pundit thinks Ramsey would be a ‘top player’ for Newcastle and he would help them get out of trouble.
It has been two years since Ramsey swapped the colours of Arsenal for those of Juventus in Serie A.
But that free transfer to Turin has resulted in the midfielder spending a lot of time in the treatment room and warming the bench.
Now, with suggestions that Ramsey could be Premier League bound during the winter transfer window, O’Hara backed those at St James’ Park to snap him up.
“I think Newcastle would be a good shout for someone like Ramsey,” said O’Hara. “Look to maybe get him in on loan.
“He’d be a top player for them and help them get out of trouble. We know he has still a lot to offer and he would be a good signing for them.
“Why not go their? They can afford his wages.
“No, I am not surprised (he’s hasn’t been a success at Juventus). I thought it was a strange move. I thought they looked to get a bargain on a free with someone who had a lot of quality. But it didn’t seem like the right fit.”

There’s no doubt that Ramsey will be on big wages at Juventus and not many clubs would be willing to touch him, as a result, especially given his injury record.
But Newcastle now have the big pockets and perhaps would be one of a very few clubs able to meet the demands of his wages.
The question then remains as to whether he would want to go to Newcastle, either on loan or on a temporary basis.
Given that the Wales international is playing Champions League football, he would probably want to maintain that, which would rule Newcastle out straightaway.
