Jurgen Klopp has talked up the quality of Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita in the Liverpool Echo.
Keita has actually been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer, with Milan Live suggesting that AC Milan want the Guinean.
However, Klopp was impressed by Keita’s performance yesterday, as Liverpool picked up a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.
“Naby is a top player, just a top player,” Klopp said.
“It was a really difficult game today and he helped us a lot. Not only with the goal but always with the passes. He was in smart positions and I really liked his game today.
“It was just such a good example of how smart he can be and of course it was not his best game, but it was good.
“So I am just happy when the player is in shape like this to perform like this because we play in three days again by the way which is tough.

“And then three days again and then maybe four. So it is a tough period and you need to find solutions for the period and today, Naby was a super solution.”
Keita was handed a start for Liverpool yesterday, as they returned to winning ways against Villa.
The 25-year-old has found it difficult to break into Klopp’s side since arriving at Anfield, but he could be in with a chance of landing a run of games now.
Liverpool do often look a stronger team when Keita is involved, as his creativity from midfield is hugely valuable.
The former RB Leipzig man is very capable in possession, and offers Klopp more playmaking qualities than most of Liverpool’s other midfield options.
