Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after reading what Marco Silva said about Carlo Ancelotti and the Toffees when speaking to the Guardian.
The Portuguese coach has been out of work since leaving Goodison Park in 2019, after he was sacked 18 months into the job.
However, he holds no hard feelings towards the Merseysiders.
The Guardian quote him as saying: “I fully respected the decision and my relationship with everyone at Everton remains excellent. I will always wish the best to the club, as well as to Ancelotti.”
Things looked good under Silva at times.
The 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United at Goodison Park made Everton look like a serious side, who could combine entertaining football with defensive substance.
However, performances like that were few and far between, sadly.

Silva left Everton 18th in the Premier League, and his final game came at Anfield as the Toffees succumbed to a humiliating 5-2 defeat.
Overall, the 43-year-old guided Everton to 24 wins from his 60 games in charge.
Silva lost 25 of those games, and draw 11. The former Watford boss won 83 points for Everton, at an average of 1.38 points per game.

He also watched his Everton side score 89 goals in those 60 games – however, they also conceded 85, which isn’t great.
Nevertheless, at least he has shown class and dignity in life after Everton.
Let’s see how the Toffees fans on Twitter reacted to his admirable comments…
