A couple of Southampton players also feature, whilst Troy Deeney is struggling at Watford.

The Premier League is now five games old and whilst things are still in their early days, as clear from the fact Chelsea are currently hovering above the relegation zone, plenty of other places in the league are starting to look like the norm.

So what can we tell from the statistics after just five games?

For instance, who have been the most wasteful attackers in the Premier League this campaign?

Interestingly, whilst the most potent players in the league come from teams such as Swansea City, Everton and Bournemouth – the most wasteful are those at big teams who cost big money.

Here are the top five:

Alexis Sanchez was a star for Arsenal last season but he is struggling for his best form this term. The Chilean had a long summer and is not yet firing on all cylinders as his finishing proves. He has not hit the back of the net for Arsenal from 28 attempts – quite a shocking record.

Then you are looking at Manchester United newbie Memphis Depay. He may be in form in the Champions League – but has yet to score in the Premier League from 17 attempts.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is also on the same tally as Depay. He may have netted recently for the England team but is still firing blanks in the Premier League despite his excellent campaign for Tottenham last term.

Then there is Troy Deeney. The Watford striker was potent in The Championship – but he has not been able to replicate that in the top-flight just yet.

Rounding off the list is a pair of Southampton players, with Sadio Mane and Jay Rodriguez still searching for their first goal after 11 attempts.
