Jack Wilshere has raved about reported Liverpool target and Juventus central defender Matthijs de Ligt on talkSPORT (5:42pm, July 7, 2022).
The former Arsenal midfielder believes that De Ligt, linked with a move to Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, is one of best central defenders in the world.
TMW reported on June 21 that Liverpool want to sign the 22-year-old Netherlands international central defender in the summer transfer window.
The Premier League club reportedly want to partner De Ligt with Virgil van Dijk at the heart of the Liverpool defence.
It would be a ‘dream’ for the Reds, according to TMW.

Wilshere said about De Ligt on talkSPORT (5:42pm, July 7, 2022): “He is a top player, probably one of the top five centre-backs in the world right now.”
Could a transfer happen?
In our opinion, Liverpool are unlikely to be able to sign Matthijs de Ligt from Juventus in the summer transfer window.
TMW have reported that the Dutchman’s release clause is €125 million (£106 million).
Given that Joe Gomez has just signed a new contract with Liverpool, we do not think that the Reds are going to spend over £100 million on another centre-back in the summer transfer window.
Moreover, clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich are interested in the former Ajax star.
