According to The Guardian, Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis was keen on a move to Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

It has been reported that Liverpool made a bid of £10 million for Lewis, but Norwich turned it down.

The Canaries – who will play in the Championship next season after getting relegated from the Premier League – want £20 million, but the Reds are unwilling to pay that amount, according to the report.

It has also been claimed that the Premier League champions are set to sign Kostas Tsimikas instead of Lewis, with the left-back heading to Merseyside for a medical before signing a five-year contract.

The Guardian has reported that Liverpool’s move for Tsimikas will frustrate Lewis, who was keen on a move to Anfield this summer.

Staying positive

Described by Norwich manager Daniel Farke as “top class” in The Pink Un in February 2020, Lewis is a very promising young left-back who held his own in the Premier League this past season.

While it will be disappointing for the 22-year-old that he could not get the move to Liverpool, he should stay positive and patient, as he is very young, and a lot of big clubs could come for him, either this summer or in the coming years.
