Celtic defender Cristian Gamboa has told The Daily Record that Moussa Dembele is good enough to play for Real Madrid.

Madrid are interested in signing Dembele from Celtic in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that the Spanish and European giants have been keeping tabs on the French forward, who has been in stunning form for the Hoops so far this season.

Dembele has scored 28 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions for Celtic so far this season, according to the club’s official website.

Two of those goals came at the weekend during the Hoops’ victory over Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bhoys got the better of Hamilton 2-0 at Celtic Park with ease on Saturday afternoon. The 20-year-old open the scoring for the home team on the stroke of half time, and added a second just before the hour mark from the penalty spot.

Gamboa, who is 27 years of age and plays as a right-back, has predicted a bright future for his Celtic teammate.

“The first goal he scored on Saturday was world class,” Gamboa told The Daily Record. “I’d give you £50m for him, but I don’t have the money!

“Just imagine what he’s going to be like when he’s 25 when he is a more mature player and he has more experience. I think he will be really good, better than he is just now. He can go to Real Madrid or wherever he wants. He is a top class player.”
