Football fans across the world are gearing up for the release of EA Sports’ FIFA 17 – and they have released some player ratings on their official website this evening.

The battle with Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer has been ramped up after PES 2017’s impressive demo, and EA Sports have heightened the excitement by sharing some Premier League ratings.

On FIFA 16, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard was the highest-rated Premier League player on the game, coming in with a huge 89 overall rating having helped the Blues win the Premier League title in 2015.

The Belgian has slipped this season though, and is only the seventh highest-rated Premier League player on FIFA 17, but his overall rating has only dropped by one point despite a disappointing season.

Hazard is joined by four Chelsea team-mates in Thibaut Courtois, Cesc Fabregas, Diego Costa and William, who have all retained huge ratings after their tenth placed finish last term.

The top two players, coming in at 90 overall, both play for Manchester United as goalkeeper David De Gea and striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic lead the way, with world-record signing Paul Pogba in ninth place on 88 overall – meaning United should be a very popular team to play as on FIFA 17.

Arsenal have five players in the top 20 as Mesut Ozil, Petr Cech, Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny feature, whilst Liverpool have just one player in the list; playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

Tottenham and West Ham had impressive seasons last term but only have one player each in the top 20. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is the 10th highest-rated player at 88 overall, whilst Hammers star Dimitri Payet is rewarded with an 86 overall rating off the back of his stunning campaign.

Other names included come from Manchester City in Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Vincent Kompany, though there are no Leicester City players in the top 20 – somewhat controversial given that the Foxes won last season’s Premier League title in remarkable fashion
