Burnley’s George Boyd has covered the most ground in the Premier League
Earlier this week, we showed which Premier League teams had covered the most ground this season, and now we take a look at which individual players lead the way in terms of distance covered.
There are one or two very familiar faces renowned for their stamina and tireless running, as well as some more surprising inclusions, and one Premier League star that very few people would expect to place so highly on such a list.
Liverpool are the only club to have two players in the top 10, whilst somewhat surprisingly Tottenham and Manchester City, who ranked second and third in terms of distance covered as a team, don’t have a single player in the individual top 10. As you can see, the likes of George Boyd and N’Golo Kante feature, as expected, with both players being renowned for covering every blade of grass. Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and Bournemouth’s Andrew Surman are similarly often noted as players with excellent stamina.
The surprise name to many people may be Everton midfielder Gareth Barry. The 35-year-old who celebrated his 600th Premier League appearance last week ranks fifth among much more youthful competition.
Some may have expected his Everton teammate Idrissa Gueye to feature rather than the veteran Barry, with Gueye having been likened to Chelsea signing N’Golo Kante in terms of the way in which he plays the game and gets around the pitch.

Others on the list include Hull City’s Sam Clucas, who has had a superb start to the season with Hull City and life in the Premier League. The former non-league midfielders stratospheric rise continues, and his statistics show that hard work is one of the reasons behind his excellent development.
Jose Mourinho demands hard work from his teams, but Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini is another inclusion which will surprise some people. The big Belgian’s inclusion in the Manchester United team is dividing opinion as always, but it seems one can’t doubt his application.
