Crystal Palace and Newcastle United are two of the early contenders to make this season’s first managerial changever – albeit under different circumstances.

Palace boss Frank de Boer has lost all three of his Premier League fixtures in charge of the Eagles, while Newcastle incumbent Rafa Benitez is reported to be unhappy with the club’s summer transfer dealings (or, perhaps more accurately, the lack thereof).

According to The Northern Echo, however, Benitez or anyone desiring his services would have to pay £6 million to prise him from Tyneside.

The Daily Mail has since speculated, however, that the above could rule Palace out of the running should De Boer get the boot.
