Victor Osimhen has been tipped to snub a summer move to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool by fellow Nigeria international Tunde Adeniji, speaking to AllNigeriaSoccer.

After a stunning 2019/20 season, in which the so-called new Didier Drogba has shone as the net-busting talisman of Ligue 1 outfit Lille, Osimhen has a difficult decision to make.

The 22-year-old has courted the interest of clubs from all over Europe, with Sky Sports suggesting in December that Liverpool and Tottenham are just two of the Premier League giants interested in securing his services.

But, as Osimhen’s agent told The Cable recently, a move to Spurs looks off the cards as long as Harry Kane is still banging in the goals in north London.

After all, the former Wolfsburg youngster appears to have no interest in spending next season stuck on the bench.

And Adeniji, the Debrecen forward who competes with Osimhen for a place in the Nigerian national team, believes his compatriot is right to prioritise a club where he would be guaranteed to play week-in, week-out.

“I have been following Osimhen’s performance in Europe, he’s doing well,” Adeniji says. “I would like him to play for Napoli if he leaves Lille, because he will have more playing time.

“They don’t have big names in their attack at Napoli. Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona and Real Madrid, (all the clubs) he’s being linked with have good strikers who have made a name for themselves.

“Osimhen is too young for the pressure now, so I prefer he joins Napoli.”

Arsenal were linked with the 18-goal targetman by LeFoot in May.

And if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is on his way out of the Emirates this summer, a situation which looks increasingly likely as the days go by, Osimhen could be tasked with replacing one of the world’s top strikers under Mikel Arteta.
