Stan Collymore has written in CaughtOffSide that Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak needs to bulk up if he is to be successful in the Premier League.
The former Liverpool striker believes that Isak is too lean to be hugely successful for Newcastle in the Premier League.
The 23-year-old Sweden international forward joined Premier League club Newcastle from La Liga outfit Real Sociedad in the summer of 2023.
The youngster has had injury problems during his time at St. James’ Park.
Isak has made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Newcastle so far this season.
The striker has scored three goals in those games.
Isak has given one assist in three substitute Carabao Cup appearances for Eddie Howe’s side so far this season.
The striker played once in the FA Cup for the Magpies this campaign.

Stan Collymore on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak
Collymore wrote: “Isak, especially, looks the type who needs to play alongside someone else. I’d like to see him bulk up over the summer too.
“He looks a little bit too lean at the moment to be a leading lone striker in the notoriously physical league that is the Premier League.”
Sound advice?
In our view, it would not be a bad idea for Alexander Isak to bulk up, as Stan Collymore suggests.
Now, just because you are lean does not mean that you cannot be a success in the Premier League.
David Silva was not exactly a very muscular footballer, but he is a Premier League legend.
Martin Odegaard is not particularly bulky, but the Arsenal playmaker is one of the best players in the Premier League.
However, being strong and able to hold off defenders and not be bulled on the pitch is an asset for strikers, and there is no harm in Isak adding that to his game.
