Kevin Campbell has warned that it could be ‘too late’ for Tottenham to finish in the Champions League places by the time they play Arsenal in the rescheduled north London derby, as he told the Highbury Squad.
There is a lot riding on that match because both Arsenal and Tottenham are vying for Champions League football at the end of the season.
No date has yet been set for the north London derby, but it seems as though the broadcasters are playing a clever game.
The later they leave it, the more the game has riding on it and could be a case of a defeat in that fixture, to either team, ends their top-four hopes.
Former Highbury hero Campbell warned that it could come down to that game, as he dismissed the thought that Spurs have the easier run-in heading into these final few months of the season.
“The crazy thing about that game, it might be at a point where it might be too late for them,” said Campbell.
“That’s what we are hoping, it might be too late for them.
On Tottenham’s schedule: “What easy on paper? (Compared to Arsenal’s). It’s easy to get wins and losses on paper.
“One thing we do know is that game is going to be such a prominent game. If all the chips are in the middle, or we are ahead of them or they are ahead of us. Who knows what’s going to happen?
“It could come down to that game – If it went against us, then you are gutted. But there is belief in this team. We have a game in hand on them.”

You don’t want to be in the losing dugout when the north London derby comes about because this hotly-contested match is going to be at its most aggressive.
NLD’s always produce goals galore, all-action drama and controversy. It wouldn’t be a surprise if it’s taken up a few notches this time around.
When the fixture comes about is also crucial, both in the sense of both teams’ injury status and form.
And whilst both Arsenal and Tottenham scrap it out, they also have to look over their shoulder at Manchester United, and possibly still West Ham, because they are hunting down that fourth spot also.
