John Terry has backed Manchester City to win the 2022/23 Premier League title over Liverpool ahead of the forthcoming campaign, as he posted on his Instagram story.

The Chelsea legend added that the current champions are ‘too good’ and he feels the introduction of Erling Haaland will be ‘huge’.

During the past five years, Manchester City have dominated the English domestic stage, winning four out of the last five titles, with only Liverpool stopping them from all-out domiance.

Despite Chelsea’s recent takeover, Arsenal being busy in the summer transfer window and Tottenham’s resurgence under Antonio Conte.

Many will still expect the usual two suspects – Manchester City and Liverpool – to be fighting it out for the main crown at the end of the 2022/23 season.

Terry has been there many a time, including defending the Premier League title, as he was asked who he thinks will win the league for the forthcoming campaign.

“Man City are too good in my opinion,” said Terry. “Haaland will be huge for them.”

CAN LIVERPOOL STOP MAN CITY?

The manner in which Pep Guardiola guided his side to the Premier League title last season was pretty remarkable.

To think that the champions have added more firepower since then, just adds further sleepless nights for the opposition.

Jurgen Klopp has the best side to stop Man City’s domination from hitting six, but what effect will Sadio Mane’s exit have on the club?

The Reds have been pretty swift in adding Darwin Nunez to their ranks, but at the end of the day, they are parting ways with a proven winner and a player that stood up during big games for an unknown figure.

Either way, with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar also taking place midway through the season, then that will also have some sort of effect on, not just the title race in England, but those key battles across Europe also.
