Atalanta star Robin Gosens has said that he’s not happy that he won’t be able to challenge Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Unfortunately, the right-back was ruled out of the Serie A side’s Champions League clash with the Premier League champions.
The German is a huge admirer of Alexander-Arnold, claiming that he is one of the strongest wide players in the world at the moment.
However he’s not happy about the fact he isn’t able to play against him on Wednesday.
“He is one of the strongest wide players at the moment, too bad I won’t be able to challenge him . We have learned a lot from the first leg challenge,” Gosens said (Via CalcioMercato).
It’s almost strange to see a player downhearted by his opposition’s injury crisis.

Most left-backs in the world would be buzzing with the news that Alexander-Arnold isn’t going to be running at them and delivering the deadly crosses that we’ve come accustomed to seeing, but Gosens doesn’t see it like that.
The German was relishing the challenge of coming up against the right-back, but he’s had that opportunity taken away from him by the defender’s injury.
Gosens was also robbed of the chance to play against the Liverpool star in the reverse fixture as he missed out on that one due to injury.
We can only hope for Gosens sake that Atalanta manage to progress through to the later rounds of the tournament and draw the Reds at a later date as it seems as though he really wants to play against Alexander-Arnold.
