Villa are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.

The Villans did not start the season strongly, but they are now among the contenders for the playoffs.

Steve Bruce’s side are 11th in the Championship table at the moment with 25 points from 18 matches.

Bruce’s side are four points behind Huddersfield Town, who are currently sixth in the standings and occupy the final playoff spot.

The Villans returned to winning ways in the Championship at the weekend, getting the better of Cardiff City 3-1 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

It is hard to see Villa challenging for one of the two automatic promotion places, but they can certainly earn a playoff spot.
