Aston Villa signed Josh Onomah, Robert Snodgrass and John Terry among other players in the summer transfer window.

Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia has taken to social networking site Twitter to underline the importance of the month of September for the club.

Villa are one of the biggest clubs in England and have a strong following, but they are playing in the Championship at the moment.

The Villans are expected to be among the clubs aiming to finish in the top six of the league table this season.

Steve Bruce’s side, though, have not made a strong start to the 2017-18 Championship campaign.

Villa are 18th in the Championship table at the moment with just five points from five matches.

The Villans were quite busy in the summer transfer window, signing central defender John Terry, right-back Ahmed Elmohamady, centre-back Christopher Samba, and midfielder Glenn Whelan on permanent contracts.

The Championship club also brought goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, midfielder Josh Onomah and winger Robert Snodgrass on loan from Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United respectively.

Villa chairman Xia has taken to Twitter to underline the importance of the month of September for the team.

Meanwhile, 21-year-old Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish, who can also operate as a winger, has stated on Twitter that he cannot wait to be back, having been out for at least three months after damaging one of his kidneys, according to BBC Sport.
