Former Villa Reo-Coker is a free agent after leaving Montreal Impact.

Tony Xia has taken to Twitter amid reports linking Nigel Reo-Coker with a return to Aston Villa.
Reo-Coker, who played for Villa for four seasons between 2007 and 2011, has been without a club since leaving Major League Soccer side Montreal Impact in January this year.

However, a report in the Sunday People claimed the 32-year-old midfielder is wanted by a string of British clubs, including Villa, Leeds, Celtic, Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday.
Xia, though, appears to have poured cold water on Reo-Coker’s hopes of a Villans reunion.
Linking to a Birmingham Mail article which carries the report, the Villa owner wrote simply. “Rumor.”
Reo-Coker, who captained the Midlands side on numerous occasions, last appeared in English football three years ago, during a short spell at Ipswich Town.

The Sierra Leone-born former England Under-21 international began his career at Wimbledon, before moving to West Ham United in 2004.
He would later leave the Hammers for Villa in a £8.5 million deal.
Roberto di Matteo added Aaron Tshibola and Mile Jedinak to his ranks during the summer transfer window, taking his overall tally of central midfielders to five.
