Aston Villa are close to signing a midfielder and a striker, according to Tony Xia.

New Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has suggested on social media site Weibo that he wants to have a new midfielder and a striker in at Villa Park before the end of the fortnight.
Villa are currently looking to strengthen their squad, as they aim to bounce back from relegation.
The Claret and Blues are one of the favourites to earn promotion from the Championship next term, but Roberto Di Matteo is determined to strengthen his side.
Di Matteo has already brought in Pierluigi Gollini, Tommy Elphick and Aaron Tshibola this summer, but it seems that further additions could be made in the near future.

Villa are believed to have a sizeable amount of funds to invest in their squad, following the arrival of Xia.
Di Matteo is also looking to clear out some of the fringe players from his squad, as he aims to make room for the new arrivals.
Villa badly underperformed last season, meaning that a number of their player’s futures are up in the air.
Villa are currently on tour of Austria, as they prepare for the start of the competitive campaign.
