Rumours are surrounding Aston Villa’s transfer window plans.

Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to send a message to fans about the club’s summer transfer plans, amid strong rumours about the club’s budget.
Villa splashed the cash both before and during their first season back in the Championship, spending heavily on the likes of James Chester, Henri Lansbury, Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan.
As noted by Transfermarkt, Villa splashed out around £70million on new signings over the last year, and that could only bring them a 13th place finish in the Championship this season.
Steve Bruce will have been hoping for a promotion push next term, but The Mirror report that Financial Fair Play issues mean that he will have just £1million to spend on new additions.

That would severely limit Bruce’s ability to bring new players into the club, and The Telegraph claim that ten players could be sold in order to raise around £25million for Bruce.
Micah Richards and Jordan Veretout, as well as additions from last summer such as Tommy Elphick and Aaron Tshibola, could be sold, leaving fans anxious about how much the club can improve this summer.

Now, club owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to state that Villa are ‘getting everything planned’ for the summer transfer window, claiming that the club will spend whatever they need to.
Xia did suggest that a key lesson must be learned at Villa Park, and that’s to avoid wasting money on signings – and after such a disastrous transfer window last summer, it’s no surprise that Xia doesn’t want to overspend again this summer.
