The Belgian striker was on the move yet again this week.
Christian Benteke scores their first goal
Christian Benteke recently made a move to Crystal Palace from Liverpool, after one poor season at Anfield.
The Belgian has become Palace’s record signing at £27 million, according to the BBC, and it follows another big money move for the player last summer.
Christian Benteke scores for Aston Villa
Liverpool snapped up Benteke a year ago from Aston Villa. The Anfield club paid £32 million for the privilege – with good reason. The striker had proven himself a potent threat in the Premier League – scoring 49 times in 101 appearances during his spell at Villa Park.
Liverpool splashed out £32.5 million for his services, as reported by the BBC, meeting a release clause in his contract at Villa Park.
New owner Dr Tony Xia during the press conference
But have Villa received all that money – not according to new chairman Dr Tony Xia.
He sent out this tweet over the weekend when asked if Villa had received all the money for the striker:
Villa suffered after the departure of Benteke. Without a proven goalscorer they tumbled down the league table and ended up finishing rock bottom and being relegated to the Championship.
But he struggled at Liverpool, in particular after the appointment of Jurgen Klopp.
