Villa failed to return to winning ways in the Championship, as they played out a 2-2 draw with Forest at home.
Apostolos Vellios put the Reds in the lead at Villa Park in the 57th minute, but the Villans rallied back to go 2-1 up through Ross McCormack and Rudy Gestede.
Henri Lansbury secured a point for Forest when he found the net in the 87th minute of the encounter.
Philippe Montanier’s side ended the game with 10 men due to the sending-off of Hildeberto Pereira on 88 minutes.
