Tony Xia expects to sign one or two players for Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
Last week Steve Bruce lamented that his squad is down to bare bones with as many as nine senior players missing through injuries.
The Villa manager said that he wants to bring in a striker to bolster his attacking department, but understands that he will have to wheel and deal to get through deals, as there are not enough funds to do business.
Recently Barry Fry, Peterborough director of football, aimed a dig at the Chinese businessman saying the Villa hierarchy have shown a lack of ambition to take the club back to the Premier League.
He added that he is surprised to see the Villa owners have not backed Bruce to the hilt in the transfer market to sign the players he wants.
Tony Xia has assured the Villa fans that there will be a few additions in the transfer market, although there isn’t much to spend due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
Bruce will most likely have to sign players on loans, but Xia has promised that the fans can expect ‘one or two’ new faces in January. He tweeted:
