Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout has been linked with Saint-Etienne in the summer transfer window.
Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia has taken to social networking site Twitter to explain the current situation of midfielder Jordan Veretout.
Veretout has been on the books of Villa since the summer of 2015 when he joined from French club Nantes for a transfer fee reported by The Express & Star to be worth £9 million.
The former France Under-21 international failed to make a huge impact at Villa during the 2015-16 season, as the Villans got relegated to the Championship from the Premier League.

The 24-year-old midfielder was sent out on loan at French club Saint-Etienne for the 2016-17 campaign.
In 35 Ligue 1 appearances for Saint-Etienne last season, Veretout scored three goals and provided four assists, according to WhoScored.
According to The Birmingham Mail, the Frenchman is closing in a move to Italian club Fiorentina despite interest from Saint-Etienne to sign him on a permanent contract.
