Stiliyan Petrov has not been given a contract by Aston Villa.

Aston Villa chairman Tony Xia has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his verdict on the situation regarding Stiliyan Petrov.
Petrov has told talkSPORT that he has not been given a new contract by Championship club Villa.
The 37-year-old midfielder is now fully fit following a successful recovery from cancer.
The former Celtic star trained with Villa in pre-season, but the midfielder has not been offered a contract by the Championship club.

Villa chairman Xia has given his thoughts on the matter on Twitter. The Chinese businessman has also stated that he will continue to post messages on the social networking site for fans.

Villa are playing in the Championship this season after getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2015-16 campaign.
Roberto Di Matteo’s side are as low as 17th in the Championship table at the moment with just seven points from as many matches.
The Villans will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Ipswich Town away from home at Portman Road in the league.
Villa are aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season.
