Former Celtic forward Tony Watt says that he went for trials at Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers and Liverpool when he was at Airdrie United.

Watt started his professional club football career at Airdrie United and moved to Glasgow giants Celtic in 2011.
The 25-year-old forward was on the books of the Hoops from 2011 until 2014 and struggled to make a huge impact at Celtic Park.
The Scottish forward recently left St. Johnstone and has joined CSKA Sofia, and he has revealed that he had a trial at Rangers when he was at Airdrie.
Watt has also claimed that he went to Liverpool for a trial, but it did not work out either.
Watt told The Scottish Sun about his trial at Rangers: “I went for one day but it didn’t work out. The head of youth liked me but the coach didn’t so it didn’t feel right. I don’t think it was because I was a Celtic supporter but I didn’t get the impression it was going to be for me.
“I was as Airdrie at the time and they’d let players go on trial to get moves. I also went to Liverpool for a few days.
“I don’t know if it actually happened, or it was a dream, but I have it in my head Raheem Sterling was there training with the first-team and he was only 14. What I do remember is the training ground was unbelievable and still the best I’ve seen.”
Meanwhile, Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has spoken highly of Ibrox midfielder Ryan Jack.
Ferguson believes that the 27-year-old midfielder has taken his game to anew level in the second half of the season playing alongside Steve Davis and Glen Kamara.
The former Aberdeen star made 26 starts and four substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers this season, scoring four goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
Ferguson wrote in The Daily Record about Jack: “He has taken his game to the next level ever since he’s been playing alongside Steve Davis and Glen Kamara.”
Ferguson added: “I used to watch him play and always be left looking for a little bit more. I wanted to see him taking the midfield by the scruff of the neck, playing killer passes and chipping in with the odd goal because I knew the talent was in there somewhere. Too often he’d just cruise through 90 minutes without ever dominating them.
“And that’s the biggest change I have seen in him this season. He’s mixed his game up and is having much more influence on matches. He looks as if he is thriving on playing next to Davis in particular and his confidence has gone through the roof.”
