Former Celtic forward Tony Watt has praised Rangers winger Daniel Candeias on Twitter.
Watt, who was on the books of Celtic from 2011 until 2014 and is now at St Johnstone, was impressed with Rangers winger Candeias during the Scottish League Cup semi-final tie between Aberdeen and Steven Gerrard’s side on Sunday evening.
The 30-year-old Portuguese winger – who joined Rangers from Benfica in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £700,000 – was brilliant for the Gers down the right flank.
Candeias’s pace and dribbling skills did put the Aberdeen defender under pressure, and although the winger worked hard, the former Nacional star’s final ball left much to be desired.
Watt was following the tie between Aberdeen and Rangers, and the 24-year-old Scottish forward was impressed with Candeias – who has scored one goal and provided two assists in six Scottish Premiership appearances and has provided two assists in three Europa League matches for the Gers so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com.
