Fraser Forster, on loan from Southampton, played well for Celtic against Lazio.
Tony Watt has suggested on Twitter that Southampton-owned Celtic goalkeeper Fraser Forster is the best shot-stopper around.
The 25-year-old former Celtic forward – who is now on the books of PFC CSKA Sofia in Bulgaria – made the big claim during the Hoops’ Europa League game against Lazio in Italy on Thursday evening.
Forster, signed on loan from Premier League club Southampton in the summer transfer window, made a number of good saves, as the Hoops won 2-1 to book their place in the round of 32 of the European competition.
Watt has also stated that 34-year-old former Celtic goalkeeper David Marshall, now on the books of Wigan Athletic in England, comes “very close” to matching Forster.
Important player for Celtic
Forster joined Southampton from Celtic in the summer of 2014 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £10 million.
The England international has been superb for the Hoops during his loan spell so far this season and has established himself as an important player in manager Neil Lennon’s side.
