West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis is keen for talks with the club’s potential new owners regarding his future at the club, according to reports in The Telegraph.

Albion are set to be taken over by a Chinese consortium led by Guochuan Lai, after the Premier League officially approved the takeover attempt this week.

Now, with new owners seemingly imminent, manager Pulis has spoken out once again over a lack of communication with the current board, regarding both his targets in the summer transfer window, as well as his long-term future at the Midlands club.

“The quicker the takeover happens and we clear the situation the better it is for everybody at the club,” said Pulis, whose contract with expires next summer.

“It’s very difficult for me to talk about what the Chinese think. I have only had two meetings with them. But once they take over there will hopefully be a stronger line between myself and them.

“It’s no good me talking about my future. I don’t determine my future, other people do.”

Pulis’ reputation with the club’s current owner Jeremy Peace, and its managerial hierarchy, is said to have rapidly deteriorated after the manager criticised the club’s failure to secure any of his high-priority transfer targets in the summer transfer window.

West Brom spent almost £25 million across the summer, bringing in Nacer Chadli, Matt Phillips, Allan Nyom, and Hal Robson-Kanu on a free transfer.

Despite this activity however, the club were also linked with a number of high-profile deals – including deals for Sporting Lisbon’s WIliam Carvalho and Islam Slimani – both of which eventually failed to materialise.

The former Stoke manager has also found himself under increasing pressure recently from both fans and pundits alike, after winning just one of his previous 14 Premier League games.

Pulis’ divisive and direct style of play has also come under heavy criticism, with many fans calling for the Welsh manager to resign as a direct result of his ‘boring’ and ‘negative’ brand of football.
