Tony Pulis has told Soccer Saturday on Sky Sports (31/10/20 at 2:30 pm) that Adam Lallana is a ‘level above’ Brighton following his move to the South Coast from Liverpool this summer.

After injuries plagued his career at Anfield, Lallana left the club this summer on a free transfer and was instantly signed up by Graham Potter at Brighton.

It has been a positive start to life at the Amex Stadium for the attack-minded midfielder, whose team haven’t been able to pick up the results their performances have deserved so far this season.

Former Premier League coach Pulis thinks that Lallana has been a ‘great signing’ for the club but suggested that he’s too good for the level he is now playing at.

“I think they have made a great signing in Adam Lallana,” Pulis told Sky Sports. “I think he is a level above Brighton without being disrespectful to anyone at Brighton.

“What Adam has to do is come up with more goals himself. I think he is a very, very creative player. He will create opportunities for every member of the team but he has to score goals himself. Brighton struggle to score goals.”

Many would argue that if injuries didn’t stagnate Lallana’s career as much as they have done then he would still be plying his trade on Merseyside.

But that’s not the case and he is now hoping to bring some joy back into his football by playing on a regular basis at a Brighton team trying to break into the top 10.

From Brighton’s perspective, it was a no-brainer bringing Lallana into the fold because they have a lot more to gain than lose by having him at their club.
