West Bromwich Albion have enjoyed an extremely promising season, and two of the players have received additional praise from their manager.
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
Tony Pulis has suggested that Nacer Chadli and James Morrison may be the hardest working members of the West Brom squad due to the fact that they are prepared to run with the ball at their feet, the Express and Star reports.
The Baggies have enjoyed a largely promising season in the Premier League, leading the chasing pack behind the top seven in the division, but a run of four defeats and no wins in six has left the door open for the rest of the mid-table contingent to challenge for eighth spot.
But regardless of how the final three games go for West Brom, it will surely be a campaign that they can reflect positively on. And Pulis has explained why Chadli and Morrison have been integral to much of their success.
“Chadli and Morrison have been fantastic for us this season but they’re technically gifted players and sometimes they’re the ones that need a rest more than anyone else,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star.
Nacer Chadli
“Because they do work harder with the ball and there’s nothing more tiring, you can ask any player. You can run up and down the pitch but running with the ball doesn’t half make a difference.”
There is surely no question that fans will reflect upon the signing of Chadli as an inspired move from the Baggies as, while he does not always create a goal or assist, he arguably provides that additional quality going forward that has meant that the side have been able to cope with having just two strikers in the first-team squad.
And if Pulis can add more signings like Chadli to the core that Morrison has been so important to over the years, then West Brom surely stand a great chance of building upon the success they have enjoyed in the top flight this term.
