West Bromwich Albion are set to enjoy their first window under their new owners in January.
Tony Pulis has suggested that West Bromwich Albion will prioritise quality over quantity during the January transfer window, and will look to lower the average age of the squad with their business, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The upcoming window is the Baggies’ first since the new owners took over at the Hawthorns, so there is undoubtedly a sense of anticipation amongst the club’s fans, especially given the lack of activity involving the side during the summer.

And ahead of the new year, Pulis has suggested that bolstering the numbers within his squad is not his primary target.
“We need to get more quality in rather than getting four or five players in,” he said, as reported by the Mail.
“We need to get quality players in and build it from there.

Pulis has also hinted that he will approach the window with one eye on strengthening the team’s long-term prospects.
“We’re an older team and we need younger players with more quality to come into the group and help the group,” he added.

With West Brom currently 11th in the Premier League, it arguably appears that they have enough quality in their squad to go into the window with little concern about the possibility of being dragged into a relegation battle.
Should that be the case, then that will enable Pulis to make the kind of signings that should benefit the club’s prospects in the future, as he will be able to sign, and then play, the players that need to develop further before they are ready to hold down a spot in the top flight with little concern for the consequences.
