Salomon Rondon has not scored for West Bromwich Albion since December.
West Bromwich Albion’s Salomon Rondon
Tony Pulis has suggested that Salomon Rondon’s recent poor form can be put down to problems back home in Venezuela, the Birmingham Mail reports.
Rondon remains the Baggies’ top goalscorer in the Premier League, but he has not scored a goal since his hat-trick of headers in the emphatic win over Swansea City back in December, meaning that his tally has remained on seven goals for the last 17 games in all competitions.
While Pulis was not able to go into any great detail, he suggested that the striker is struggling to concentrate fully on events that are happening on the pitch, but insisted that recent interest from the Chinese Super League was not a factor.
“I think there have been other things back home that have gone on,” he said, as reported by the Mail.

“I can’t go into detail but there is something else on his mind which he has to worry about.
“I wouldn’t say it is the interest from China, not at all.”
West Brom manager Tony Pulis
Although it is difficult to know what can be done to help Rondon as the exact circumstances are unclear, Pulis may be hoping that the 27-year-old gets the kind of support from the fans that will help during whatever difficulty he is going through currently.
The fans were previously well within their right to question his recent form, but Pulis’ insistence that the striker is struggling for other reasons may help the supporters and the players come together to try and help Rondon rediscover his very best form to hopefully help make life a little easier.
