Tony Pulis has admitted that he does not believe that the growing number of West Brom players within international squads will have that great an impact on their chances of being successful during the summer transfer window, the Birmingham Mail reports.
The Baggies currently have nine players away with their respective countries, and would have had 10 squad members away had Matt Phillips not withdrawn from the Scotland squad for their games with Canada and Slovenia due to injury.
But despite the greater number of players receiving international recognition, Pulis is insistent that it is still money that talks rather than a club’s growing reputation.
“I’d love to say that’s the case,” he said, as reported by the Mail, when asked about the impact of international call-ups on transfer business.
“But it’s pounds, shillings and pence more than anything else.

“That’s the reality of it.”
While Pulis has played down the idea that the number of West Brom players currently away will have a positive impact on their chances of signing their targets in the summer, the players away with their countries could perhaps help make a switch to the Hawthorns seem a much more appealing to others.
West Brom have arguably been one of the Premier League’s surprise packages this season, and so it would hardly be a surprise if a number of players are talking about the direction the club is going in.
And those discussions may perhaps have an impact if some of the players involved suddenly become linked with the Baggies during the summer.
