Tony Pulis has revealed that West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino is set to be offered a new contract, during his latest press conference ahead of their trip to Liverpool on Saturday, as quoted by the Telegraph.
Berahino, who has been the subject of a long transfer saga at the Hawthorns over the past four transfer windows will be offered fresh terms, despite only scoring one Premier League goal in the past 12 months.
Pulis also revealed in his press conference on Friday that the 23-year-old will be put on a special training programme to improve his fitness, whilst talks remain ongoing about a new deal.

The West Brom boss is quoted by the Telegraph as saying: “We’ve had four opportunities to sell Saido since I’ve been here but they’re trying, if possible, to get a new deal done with him. We feel that he should focus now on his fitness as we’ve not been too happy with that.
“We’re going to move him away from the playing squad and it will almost be like a pre-season for him. He has bought into it and we think this is the best way to get him back on board.
“We just want to get him fit and playing, whatever it takes, and we think this is the best way to do it. He’s a top goal-scorer and that’s why he’s worth fighting for.”

The England under-21 international has suffered a dip in form over the last year, but Pulis has stayed loyal to the prospective striker who has featured in previous squads for the Three Lions’ senior side, but has yet to earn a cap.
Berahino made his West Brom debut four years ago and has since gone on to represent the club 113 times, scoring 36 goals in the process. His best season came during the 2014-15 campaign where he found the back of the 20 times in 45 outings.
