Tony Pulis has suggested that he would have the utmost confidence selecting Nacer Chadli in any position in the West Brom side, the Birmingham Mail reports.

Chadli has struggled to make an impact over the last month, with his last assist coming in the win over Arsenal in the game before the international break while his most recent goal came in the draw with West Ham in February.

Some Baggies fans may well feel that the fact that Chadli has not been able to enjoy a prolonged run in one position has probably been detrimental to his chances of making a major impact for the side throughout the campaign, but Pulis has suggested that the £13 million man is capable of shining in any role.

“It’s funny really – he came back from Belgium playing wing-back – Roberto (Martinez) played him as a wing-back in the two games, so he’s got the versatility to play anywhere,” he said, as reported by the Mail.

“He can play anywhere and if you ask him, he can play all of the roles.

“Against Greece in the first game, he really enjoyed it – he’s one of those people who just loves playing football.”

Although Pulis is adamant that the former Tottenham man can be used anywhere across the pitch, he has shown throughout the campaign that he is probably the perfect player to operate in a central attacking midfield role with the likes of Chris Brunt and Matt Phillips operating either side of him.

And a prolonged run in that position would surely give him a much greater chance of being the talisman that Pulis hoped he would be when the club broke their club record to bring him to the Hawthorns in the summer.
