Tony Pulis says the West Bromwich Albion left-back has been simply outstanding.
Tony Pulis has told The Mirror that he has been impressed with the “outstanding” Kieran Gibbs since he joined West Bromwich Albion this past summer.
The 28-year-old defender joined West Brom in a £7 million deal from Arsenal.
The England left-back has been leaving a good impression among Baggies fans – especially after that 2-2 draw with Watford on Saturday – and has started Albion’s last three games in the Premier League.
Although he is yet to be on the winning side, Gibbs certainly looks like something of a bargain and Pulis tells The Mirror that he’s delighted with him.
He said: “We have had outstanding performances from Gibbs since he has come into the football club, which we have been pleased with.”
The former Arsenal man, who rose through the ranks in North London after joining the Gunners as a child, is certainly making all the right kind of noises in regards to an England recall.
Gibbs, who has 10 caps for his country, has not featured for the Three Lions in over two years but on this form he is asking questions of manager Gareth Southgate.
However, he has played no part in England’s World Cup qualification campaign – which concludes this month – so Southgate may be reluctant to bring him to Russia if and when they qualify.
