West Bromwich Albion had a bid turn down for Morgan Schneiderlin before he moved to Everton.
West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has admitted in the Daily Mail that he was hugely disappointed to miss out on the chance to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United.
The Baggies had gone after Schneiderlin early on in the month, and saw a bid rejected by United for the defensive midfielder.
Everton then made a £22 million offer for the French international which was accepted, and Schneiderlin ended up moving to Goodison Park.
Albion are now being forced to look elsewhere for additions, and Pulis admits that he is really disappointed to have lost out in the race to sign one of his top targets.
“We need to bring players in,” Pulis said. “We’re desperately disappointed that we didn’t get Morgan Schneiderlin.
“We have to improve and everyone knows that. We need a lift and not just the players.”
Schneiderlin made his Everton debut yesterday, during Ronald Koeman’s side’s 4-0 win over Manchester City at Goodison Park.
West Brom, on the other hand, were beaten heavily at the weekend at White Hart Lane by Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs ran out 4-0 victors over the Baggies, with Pulis’ side rarely threatening during the contest.
Albion are currently in eighth place in the Premier League table, with their next match coming against Sunderland.
