West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has explained why Brendan Galloway has struggled for game time this season.
Galloway is on a season long loan from Everton, but hasn’t featured in the league for his temporary employers since September’s 4-2 win against West Ham United.
The left back was in part to blame for both of the Hammers’ goals, although Pulis told BBC West Midlands there are other reasons behind Galloway’s continued omission.
“In Brendan’s case he did have a bad injury and was out for about six weeks,” the Welshman said during Tuesday’s football phone-in.
“[Allan] Nyom, [Craig] Dawson and [Chris] Brunt have played full back and have played exceptionally well.
“So it’s been difficult to change that position.”
The Liverpool Echo reported last month that despite Galloway’s lack of action, West Brom refused an attempt by Everton to terminate the England Under 21 international’s spell early.

It was claimed the Toffees had even struck a deal with Championship side Derby County to send the former MK Dons player to Pride Park for the rest of the campaign instead.
However, with Premier League loan deals unable to be terminated outside of the two transfer windows, Galloway will now remain with West Brom until the summer.
