In recent weeks, West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for Leeds United’s left-back Charlie Taylor.
If the reports are to be believed, the Baggies are closing in on a deal for the 23-year-old, who refused to play for Leeds in their final game against Wigan Athletic.
The Birmingham Mail reported that West Brom are trying to secure a deal for him within this month. The club hope that the player will agree a pre-contract agreement with them soon.
Ahead of this weekend’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, manager Tony Pulis has given an update on Taylor’s transfer situation.

He said that the player has been on their radar for a while, and that they are not the only club vying for his signature.
The former Stoke City manager fears that the matter could go to a tribunal between the two clubs. He adds that he expects to sort out a deal directly with Leeds United than take the route of tribunal.
“There’s a lot of clubs interested in Charlie Taylor, we’re not the only one. He’s been on our radar for a bit but it could go to a tribunal between the two clubs,” said Pulis, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“Our club would rather try to sort out a deal with Leeds if we’re going to do it than go to a tribunal. There’s still a lot of air in that bag before anything’s achieved.
West Brom have also been reportedly (The Birmingham Mail) linked to a move for Middlesbrough’s defender Ben Gibson. Pulis has confirmed that the Baggies have not spoken to anybody at Boro about the defender yet.
“We’ve not spoken to anybody at Middlesbrough about Ben Gibson and if we had, I still wouldn’t tell you. Seriously though, we’ve not spoken to anyone there,” he added.
