Tony Pulis has hinted to the Express and Star that Marouane Chamakh is well on his way to earning a contract with West Bromwich Albion after suggesting that he boasts real quality.
The 32-year-old is currently on trial at the Hawthorns, having been released by Crystal Palace earlier in the summer. And while the former Arsenal man was forced to limp out of their recent friendly with Delhi Dynamos due to an injury sustained inside the first 25 minutes, Pulis suggested that a deal could still be agreed in the future.

“Chamakh has got real quality in that 10 position and he can score goals but we will see,” he told the Express and Star.
“It would be lovely to think that in a month’s time he could be at the level he was at Palace.
“If he was at that level he would certainly be pushing people to play.”
Though Pulis has been impressed by Chamakh, it is unlikely that he would be the kind of signing that would appease disgruntled Baggies supporters following a frustrating summer window.
The Morocco international has hardly been prolific during his time in the Premier League, and while Pulis has insisted that his game is about more than goals, he will arguably need to find the back of the net with some regularity to be considered a successful signing amongst supporters, if he does end up joining.
But as Pulis appears confident that he can get the best out of him, his potential arrival could prove to be a good piece of business for the Midlands club.
