Tony Pulis has backed West Brom starlet Sam Field to become a tremendous player for the Baggies, and was full of praise for his display in the side’s draw with Burnley on Saturday, Sky Sports reports.
Field has predominantly been restricted to the odd substitute appearance since making his last start for Pulis’ men in the away defeat to Bournemouth back in September, but returned to the starting lineup for the trip to Turf Moor.
And in the 54 minutes he spent on the pitch, the 18-year-old looked fairly lively, prompting Pulis to shower him with a huge amount of praise for both his performance and his future prospects.
“Sam is going to be a tremendous player,” he said, as reported by Sky Sports. “The way Burnley put you under pressure, it will be different to the way other teams play. But I thought he was smashing today.”

With West Brom boasting a fairly ageing squad, having players like Field and Jonathan Leko pushing for a first-team spot will undoubtedly give them a boost heading into the next campaign when they will be looking to build upon what has been a promising campaign until recent weeks.
And with the Baggies in no danger of being relegated this term, it may perhaps not be that great a surprise if Pulis decides to give Field, and perhaps Leko also, a few more minutes before the season ends in the hope that it gives them a better chance of being able to make a contribution for the first-team next term.
