West Bromwich Albion are interested in signing Leeds United’s Charlie Taylor in the summer transfer window.
West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has revealed to The Birmingham Mail that he wants to sign Leeds United defender Charlie Taylor in the summer transfer window.
Taylor has been on the books of Leeds his entire professional club football career so far and has a contract with the Whites until the end of the season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
Pulis has revealed that he wants to sign the 23-year-old left-back, but the West Brom manager has admitted that settling on a fee would be a problem.
“He’s one of the players we’re looking at in respect of left-backs but he’s not the only one,” Pulis told The Birmingham Mail about Taylor.
“He’s a possibility. The problem with that one is it would go to a tribunal so we’re not exactly sure what the fee would be.
“So that would be a difficult one but he’s one we have talked about. He wouldn’t be a free transfer.”
There are no signs that Taylor will sign a new contract with Leeds, and it looks likely that the 23-year-old left-back will leave the Championship club at the end of the season.
The former England Under-19 international is one of the best left-backs in the Championship and has played well for the Whites this season.
Given that Taylor is now 23 years old, it would make sense for him to leave Leeds for a club in the Premier League in the summer.
It could take the Englishman a while to adjust to life in the English top flight, but the left-back has enough quality to succeed in the Premier League.
